Snacks & Breakfast
We would like to take a moment to remind everyone about our school breakfast expectations. Our breakfast program is designed for students to enjoy their meal in the lunchroom before the start of the school day. Recently, we have noticed an increase in students treating breakfast as “grab and go,” which is not our intended practice. We ask that students remain in the lunchroom and eat the majority of their breakfast during this time. This helps ensure they are starting their day with the nutrition they need, while also keeping classrooms clean and focused on learning.
If students have small leftovers, they are welcome to bring those back to the classroom as a snack for later. However, the main portion of breakfast should be eaten before leaving the lunchroom.
Thank you for your support in reinforcing this expectation with your student. Please reach out if you have any questions.

April's Key-Balance
BALANCE– Be willing to do things differently
Be mindful of self and others while focusing on what’s meaningful and important in your life. Inner happiness and fulfillment come when your mind, body, and emotions are nurtured by the choices you make. When we’re in balance we make time for the things that are important to us. Staying in balance is an ongoing process about choices. We’re constantly making choices about what we do, what we say, how we feel, what we think, etc. When questions arise about how we spend our time, we make choices depending on what’s important in the moment. We may choose to give up time with friends to finish a project for work or school, or we may choose to put aside something we’re doing to help a friend.
Many of the choices we make every day-choices about school, work, hobbies, sports, family, friends, health, etc.-are about balance. Balance is not about rigidly devoting equal time to everything that matters to us, and it’s not about totally immersing ourselves in one area of our lives to the exclusion of all others.
Balance is about considering everything that’s meaningful and important to us when we make choices about how we spend our time and energy. When we find the right balance we are happy, healthy, productive, and fulfilled.

Spring Weather Reminders
As the weather begins to warm up, the grass is very muddy. Please make sure your students have an extra pair of shoes and extra set of clothes at school in case your student gets too dirty when outside during recess.
Fidgets Vs. Toys
We have been spending time going over the difference between fidgets and toys during our morning announcements with the Broadcasting Club but we want to share the message with families too. Fidgets are simple tools designed to help students focus, manage energy, and stay engaged in learning, such as stress balls, small putty, or quiet sensory items that can be used without distracting others.
Toys, on the other hand, are meant for entertainment and play, and often draw attention away from learning or disrupt the classroom environment. To help maintain a focused and productive space for all students, we want to remind everyone that toys be kept at home. If your student benefits from using a fidget, we are happy to work with you to ensure it is appropriate for the classroom and supports their learning. Please reach out to us if you have anyt questions.

2026-27 School Year-Kindergarten
If you have an incoming kindergartener-or know someone who does, please take a moment to complete the Kindergarten Information Form as soon as possible. This form helps us prepare class lists, plan for staffing, and ensure a smooth and success start to the school year for all of our new Glen Hill students.

Car Line/Parking Lot Arrival and Dismissal
To help keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for all students, we want to all families to be aware of the following items:
-
Parking lot = Car line only. During arrival and dismissal, there will be no parking in the lot.
-
Walkers may be held briefly. If you are walking and crossing near our crossing guard, please wait until you are directed to cross. The crossing guard will be monitoring traffic flow and may temporarily hold walkers so car line traffic can clear.
-
Right turn only when exiting. Families in the car line will continue to turn right only when leaving the parking lot. Please follow the crossing guard’s directions when stopping or going.
Thank you for helping us keep the process safe and moving smoothly for everyone!
