Winter Weather
As the weather begins to get colder, please send your student to school with a coat, hat, gloves, etc. If there is snow, students should also have snow gear such as boots and snow pants to enjoy the snow during recess. We will go outside unless the Real Feel temperature is below 19 degrees.
Thanksgiving Lunch Menu Change
Once again, we are offering a special Thanksgiving lunch on Friday, November 22. Teachers will be asking students on Wednesday for their lunch choice so the kitchen can make sure there will be enough hot lunches.
HOT LUNCH
Sliced Turkey
Mashed Potatoes with Gravy
Cornbread
(Cold Lunch options will be the same)
Nurse's Corner
It is that time of year again--the Dupage County Smile Squad Dental Van is coming to our school! The dentist will be here December 3rd and 4th to service your student's smile.
While all students are encouraged to sign up, this dental exam will meet the state mandated requirement for Kindergarten and 2nd grade. If the child meets the necessary requirements, they will receive a dental cleaning, fluoride treatment, and sealants. After they are seen, a letter will be sent home with the exam results and what services were done. BONUS: EVERY CHILD WILL RECEIVE A FREE TOOTHBRUSH!
If you are interested in having your student be seen by the dentist FOR FREE, please complete the consent form that will be sent home by your teacher and turn it in as soon as possible. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via email at jpalmisano@queenbee16.org or telephone at 630-260-6142.
Thank you,
Nurse Jenna

Morning Arrival Procedures
It is important for all students to arrive on time and ready to learn every morning. In order to ensure students are safely in the building and ready to begin their day, we ask families to be here before the 8:15 bell rings. In the event that your student arrives later, we have procedures in place in make sure they get the information they need to start the day. Any students arriving after the 8:20 bell are officially tardy to school. Families MUST sign them in for the day. We have all students waiting until after our daily announcements to get to their classrooms. Thank you for your support in getting your students to school on time!
Lost and Found Items
We have plenty of items in our Lost and Found that are looking for their owners. If your student is missing something, please encourage them to check out the items on the tables outside of the office. These things will also be out for families to look at during conferences as well.
Changes in Your Student's Dismissal Plans?
While it is always helpful to inform your student's teacher, we ask that familes also always contact the office. There is so much happening during the school day and we want to be able to help teachers out by making sure we are aware of these changes. You can contact the office at any time, but it can be busy at arrival and dismissal times. Also, please try to give us at least 30 minutes if you would like to pick up your child early. This way, we have enough time to have them ready and waiting in the office for you.
